Why attend China Business Forum 2011?
Participants of the China Business Forum 2011 can look forward once again to receiving key market intelligence on the outlook and drivers for doing business in the China water and wastewater sector, which is currently estimated at a total value exceeding RMB240billion.

It is expected that the Chinese market will continue its exponential growth of over 10% per year under the upcoming 12th five-year plan (Year 2011 – Year 2015), where it is estimated that the Chinese government will double its investments, especially in the wastewater and water recycling sector, where total investments under the 12th five-year plan is estimated to exceed RMB150billion.

Key Chinese central government officials from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Ministry of Water Resources will once again grace the China Business Forum in 2011 to provide key insights into the biggest and fastest growing water market in the world, as well as share about the key developmental targets for the Chinese water and wastewater sector under the 12th five-year plan.

Today, over 70% of the wastewater service and over 20% of the water supply in China is provided by international water companies. Having enjoyed success in achieving key 11th 5-year plan targets via commercialisation and privatisation through Build-Operation-Transfer (BOT) / Transfer-Operation-Transfer (TOT) projects, international water companies can look forward to even more water and wastewater project opportunities under the 12th 5-year plan where there will be even greater urgency for industry and pricing reforms to attract even more social capital to solve China’s impending water crisis.

It is with this in mind that the China Business Forum 2011 will be even more business-focussed where participants can also look forward to hearing about projects, which are tender-ready, from key municipal leaders and have even more opportunities to meet and network with these leaders for detailed project discussions.
