| US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for Water Reuse Workshop |
US EPA Guidelines for Water Reuse Workshop The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Guidelines for Water Reuse was developed in 1980 and was updated in 1992 and 2004. In addition to summarizing U.S. regulations, the document includes a chapter on water reuse practices outside of the U.S., case studies, information on planning water reuse systems, and information on indirect potable and industrial reuse. Recently, the EPA, USAID and CDM initiated the next Guidelines update, and are seeking input from water reuse authorities and experts, in their respective fields, to provide case study contributions to the document. During this Workshop, a brief overview of the 2004 Guidelines will be presented, and the format of the updated international section will be discussed in greater detail. Subsequently, selected case study materials for the updated Guidelines will be presented and discussed. Goals of this Workshop include developing a better understanding of the audience for the international chapter, and development of a more complete list of potential case studies that could be included in the document. Contributor involvement is critical to success of the document, targeted for production in 2012.

2nd Water Sensitive Urban Landscape Seminar: ABC Waters - Towards Sustainable Environment |
Singapore is evolving towards a water sensitive approach, known as the Active, Beautiful and Clean Waters (ABC Waters) management for sustainable water management. This approach involves the incorporation of ABC Waters design features, natural green features consisting of plants and soil media to treat the rainwater runoff before it enters the waterways. It leads to improvements to water quality entering our waterways from urban areas; creation of new social and recreational spaces to bring people closer to water; enhancements to the aesthetics of the surrounding landscape and creation of suitable habitat for improving urban biodiversity. It contributes to urban sustainability and conditions for attractive living environments through integration of urban planning and design and is in line with the larger objective of transforming Singapore into a "City of Gardens and Water". This seminar will share insights on the international trends in water sensitive urban landscape and case studies of water sensitive projects in global arena including local R&D experiences in this field.

| Global Water Intelligence (GWI) Desalination Workshop |
 |
"Global Water Intelligence has partnered with Singapore International Water Week to bring you a two day training course, Desalination Short School. Accomplished desalination experts Tom Pankratz, Editor of Water Desalination Report and John Tonner, Principal at Water Consultants International, will lead the course at the Suntec International Convention Centre, Singapore on the 7th and 8th of July 2011. Our course is different as we've put together the programme based on market research into what desalination professionals want and need. We have carefully selected case studies, illustrating the most relevant issues that desalination professionals encounter at different stages in the life cycle of a project. What are the benefits of attending this course? New case study approach - The case studies are selected to highlight specific issues in project management and the instructors have direct experience with the desalination plants included Discussion opportunities - We have allocated a generous amount of time for question and answer sessions during the course, including a dedicated one hour discussion on the second day. In addition, there are networking drinks after the plant tour to discuss the course content with the other delegates Desalination market profile - Christopher Gasson, publisher of Global Water Intelligence, will give an analysis of the current Desalination Market and forecast its growth through to 2016"

| UF/MF Membrane Water Treatment- Principles, Design & Operation |
The focus of this training program is on the use of UF/MF in water and wastewater treatment, both for fine filtration applications and as a pre-treatment for RO. Membrane technologies will be reviewed, together with the commercial offerings of suppliers. Advantages of competing systems will be highlighted, thus enabling informed selection decisions to be made. The program will then examine case studies and experience of UF/MF in pre-treatment, and will conclude with a review of operational issues, helping users to understand their systems, improve performance, and solve problems. Assignments will be used to illustrate key points. The workshop is designed for water and wastewater engineers and technical professional who want to improve their knowledge and skills in UF/MF Membrane Systems Design and Operation. Program Content 1. UF/MF Fundamentals 2. Comparative Review of International UF/MF Suppliers 3. Membrane Filtration Process Design 4. System Design 5. Applications, Treated Water Quality, and Costs 6. Performance and Membrane Fouling 7. Operational Issues
