The Singapore International Water Week is the global platform for water solutions. It will bring policymakers, industry leaders, experts and practitioners together to address challenges, showcase technologies, discover opportunities and celebrate achievements in the water world.
Comprising the Water Leaders Summit, Water Convention and Water Expo, it culminates in the presentation of the Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize, a prestigious international award to recognize outstanding contributions in solving water issues. The inaugural Singapore International Water Week will be held from 23 to 27 June 2008.
This event promises to offer an exciting week of activities to a congregation of 6,000 water professionals and government officials from all over the world in Singapore.

About 150 ministers, government officials and top industry players have confirmed their attendance at the Water Leaders Summit, a 1½-day platform for exchanging views and ideas on policy, development, as well as global issues and challenges related to water. Jointly developed by the International Desalination Association and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, the summit will be chaired by Singapore’s Ambassador-at-Large Tommy Koh, with the keynote address by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. There will also be three roundtable discussions, on “The Right Environment for Water Technology Solutions”, “The Business of Water” and “Cities of the Future”.
 
A total of 232 abstracts from 25 countries have been received for the Water Convention, a three-day conference for industry experts, practitioners, researchers and academics to share the latest advances in water and used water treatment technologies at SIWW. Some 800 delegates are expected to attend the event, which has been jointly developed by the PUB and the International Water Association. Posters and more than 100 oral and poster presentations will be given in five parallel tracks.

A total of 150 exhibiting companies from 18 countries have snapped up the entire space at the Water Expo within months and the organisers have increased the floor space by 30 per cent to cope with the overwhelming demand.

The Water Expo is a trade show that focuses on innovations, products and services, as well as best practices, successful case studies and practical applications of water technologies.
