Singapore International Water Festival 2011

The Singapore International Water Festival is organised by Singapore Polytechnic and PUB, Singapore National Water Agency in conjunction with the Singapore International Water Week 2011. The one-day event to be held on 2 July 2011 will have many land and water activities that provide competitions, fun, excitement and an enriching educational experience.

Highlights of this event include the Dragon Boat and Canoeing competitions, International Business Community Dragon Boat Race, Raft Race, Walking on Water, Art Contest (On the Spot), Kite Flying, Barrage Tour, Solar Powered Boat Race, Amazing Greenviron Challenge, River Taxi Ride and Funfare.

Tertiary Rowing Training I

Tertiary Rowing Training I is the launch of Singapore Rowing Association (SRA) schools programme. With development of Rowing in Singapore, the spirit and enthusiasm of youths is the base which SRA would like to venture to further boost the participation level and eventually the performance level of the sport here.

Tertiaries will be participating in a two-day tryout event in 4-men crew boats where safety, and basic skills of rowing will be taught. The participants will enjoy the fast pace they are going to experience in the rowing boats during a mini race.

Sailfun at the Bay

As part of the Singapore International Water Festival, Singapore Sailing invites all to join us at Sailfun at the Bay, 8 till 10 July 2011 from 9.00am-6.00pm. Special ½ and 1hour sails in the Marina Reservoir will be available on a 25-foot Platu and a 14-foot Pacer respectively, at SGD15/pax/session. Come sail and capture memorable photos of your experience against Singapore's city skyline with is iconic landmarks such as the Marina Bay Sands and Singapore Flyer. Sail rides will be accompanied by certified coaches. Equip yourself with tshirt, shorts, sunglasses, cap, sunblock and non-marking covered sneakers/booties. Bookings can be made on a first-come-first-served basis at the SingaporeSailing Registration Desk at the Barrage.
