Organised by: EMVIS Consultant Engineers S.A. and the International Water Association (IWA)
Water utilities’ treatment operations, costs, and resulting services to consumers are heavily determined by both quantity and quality of water upstream in the catchments and reservoirs.
SPACE-O is a European Horizon 2020 funded project which uses satellite data to assess upstream risks and provide forecasting on water quality (e.g. turbidity, algal blooms) and flows to optimize water utility operations, reduce resources and energy required to treat water, and enhance water management at the catchment level.
The purpose of this event is to introduce the SPACE-O concept to end users in Asia. The event will explore the needs and current approaches of water supply providers in the region to further improve decision support systems and operations and identify potential areas for innovation.
1. Identify main challenges of water service providers around their operations;
2. Identify possible applications of state-of-the-art satellite technology and in-situ monitoring for forecasting of water flows and quality data in reservoirs;
3. Share experiences on the use of various data sources for optimizing performance of water service providers.
*Lunch will be provided from 12:30 to 14:00
