Chief Executive, PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency
Mr Ong Tze-Ch’in is Chief Executive of PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency. In this role, he is responsible for the supply of clean water, the reclamation of used water, the management of storm water, and the protection of Singapore’s coasts against sea level rise.
Prior to PUB, Tze-Ch’in was Deputy Secretary (Resilience) at the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, where he oversaw water and food policies, as well as the Ministry’s international relations, communications and engagement, and emergency planning functions. Before that, Tze-Ch’in served 2 tours in the Ministry of Education (MOE) family. He was the Chief Executive of SkillsFuture Singapore and concurrently Deputy Secretary (SkillsFuture) in MOE; and prior to that, the Coordinating Divisional Director of the Higher Education Group in MOE. Before his Public Service career, Tze-Ch’in started out in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), attaining the rank of Brigadier General after almost 25 years of service. His last 2 appointments in the SAF were: Director of Military Intelligence / Chief C4I; and Commander of the 3rd Singapore Division.
Tze-Ch’in currently serves on the Board of the Housing and Development Board, and the Advisory Board of Singapore Management University’s College of Integrative Studies. Tze-Ch’in previously served in multiple Boards of various organisations - the Institute for Adult Learning, Workforce Singapore, Employment and Employability Institute Pte Ltd (e2i), Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic and ST Electronics. Tze-Ch’in was also previously Chairman for Sembawang Country Club.
Tze-Ch'in received a Masters in Business Administration from INSEAD in 2010 and a Masters in Defence Studies from King's College London in 2006. He graduated from Stanford University in 1998 with Masters and Bachelor degrees in Electrical Engineering."
