Prof Hu Qing graduated from Tsinghua University with her bachelor degree; and obtained her PhD degree from UK Imperial College. Prof. Hu is the director of the Engineering Innovation Center (Beijing) at SUSTC; she is the former board director of CECDADI Environmental Remediation Co., Ltd., before that, she is associate director & chief representative of UK Halcrow Group.

Prof Hu has more than 30 years researches and working experiences in environmental protection areas, including: Environmental Policy, strategy; Water/waste water treatment; Eco-city planning; Soil Remediation; Environmental Risk Assessment.

She was also members of Nominating Committee for Stockholm Water Prize, Technical Advisory Committee of Global Water Partnership (NGO), and the committee member of Soil and Groundwater Specialized Committee of China Society of Environmental Sciences.

She won (1) the Scientific Research Foundation for the High-Level Returned Overseas Chinese Scholars of MOHRSS in 2011, (2) the Science and Technology Progress Award of Ministry of Education and (3) the State Council Special Allowance Experts in 2013.
