SESSION 1: FROM AI PILOTS TO AUTONOMOUS OPERATIONS: SHAPING THE FUTURE OF WATER UTILITIES
Water utilities need to move beyond isolated AI pilots toward embedding agentic and autonomous systems into their core operations, transitioning from project-based digitalisation to integrated operating models where AI autonomously optimises critical processes while maintaining appropriate human oversight. This session explores organisational structures, governance models, and leadership decisions required to operationalise AI safely, responsibly, and at scale. |
| 3:15PM – 4:00PM | Group Photo-taking and Networking Tea Break |
| 4:00PM – 4:45PM |
SESSION 2: CYBERSECURITY AS KEY ENABLER OF SMART AND AI-ENABLED TRANSFORMATION This session discusses key strategies for utilities to strengthen cyber resilience and safeguard operational continuity amidst increasing adoption of Smart and AI-enabled projects. This involves embracing an assume-breach mindset by embedding cybersecurity considerations throughout the lifecycle of digital initiatives, ranging from governing Generative AI (GenAI) models to securing centralised and automated water operations. By adopting a threat-informed cyber defence approach, utilities can better mitigate cyber risks and minimise operational impact during cyber-attacks. |
| 4:45PM – 5:30PM | SESSION 3: DEVELOPING AN AI-READY WORKFORCE: THE HUMAN-MACHINE ARCHITECTURE Any successful digital transformation is only 10% technology and 90% people. One of the critical challenges lies in managing an aging workforce while simultaneously upskilling teams to move from reactive "doing" to proactive "reviewing" and oversight of AI-driven systems. This session discusses strategies for developing an AI-ready workforce, including capability and competency building, change management, and job redesign. |
