Richard Warneford
Wastewater Director
Richard Warneford is a water industry professional with over 35 years’ experience covering water and wastewater operations, asset management, project management, engineering and commercial activity.
As Wastewater Director he leads Northumbrian Water’s wastewater service including strategic planning, asset management, field customer service, networks, treatment works and bioresources operations. Richard’s portfolio also includes a number of wastewater treatment works on a commercial basis for Scottish Water. In addition to the operationally focused work Richard also helps lead on Environmental matters for the business and chairs Northumbrian Water’s Employee Relations Framework.
Richard is Chair of UK Water Industry Research (UKWIR) and is keen on partnering and collaborating with Regulators and Stakeholders alike. Richard is a Chartered Civil Engineer, and a fellow of the Institute of Water.
Richard is a keen WaterAid supporter and visited Zambia with industry and WaterAid colleagues in 2013.
