Levien de Legé is employed at TNO Energy Transition, the National Energy Research Institute in the Netherlands.

Between 2012 and 2017, he acts as Managing Director of the Chinese and Malaysian subsidiary and was responsible for business development in the Asian renewable energy market. He initiated the joint development programme with FGVAT for development of Torwash technology, which converts (biomass) residues from CPO production into high quality fuel pellets to replace wood based fuels. Together with the Dutch embassy in Malaysia, Levien co-founded PIB Palmares, a public private cooperation to promote Dutch technologies and knowhow to the palm oil industry in Malaysia.

Next to this, Levien is co-founder of TORWASH (a TNO start-up company) that develops and commercializes Torwash technology for deep dewatering of sewage sludge.

Levien has a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering at Delft Technical University.
