Mr Jean-Louis Chaussade
Chief Executive Officer, SUEZ
Mr Jean-Louis Chaussade (French, 65 years old) has an engineering degree from ESTP (1976) and holds a Master’s degree in Economics (Sorbonne, 1976). He is also a graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (1980) and of AMP at Harvard Business School (1988).
He first joined Degrémont in 1978 and was subsequently appointed Chief Operating Officer of Degrémont Spain in Bilbao in 1989. During this period he was appointed Director of Aguas de Barcelona. Mr. Chaussade was also appointed Chief Executive Officer of Dumez Copisa Espagne in 1992.
In 1997, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Lyonnaise des Eaux in South America, and Chief Operating Officer of SUEZ for South America.
He was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Degrémont in 2000 and, in 2004, Executive Vice-President of SUEZ and Chief Executive Officer of SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT.
Mr. Chaussade was also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lyonnaise des Eaux (France) and of Sita France.
Mr. Chaussade is Chief Executive Officer of SUEZ since July 2008.
He has been a member of the GDF SUEZ Management Board from May, 2011 to July, 2013.
Mr Chaussade is also Director of Criteria Caixa S.A.U. (Spain) since October 2011.
He is Co-Chairman of the France-China Committee since November 2014 and Chairman of the delegation of French Chief Executives for Algeria, for the MEDEF International, the French business association since 2007.
Since January 2017, Mr Chaussade is Director of the UTC (Université Technologique de Compiègne) and Member of the Board of Kaufman & Broad.
From November 2017 he is Member of the Board of the Institut du Capitalisme Responsable.
Mr Chaussade is also Member of the Board of SUEZ Water Technologies and Solutions since April 21st 2017.
He is Officier of the French Légion d'Honneur.
