Professor Stephenson was appointed to his current role in 2013. He leads Cranfield’s research and innovation activity that includes development and delivery of research and knowledge exploitation strategies, leading relationships with research funders and submission of major grant bids. His responsibilities include entrepreneurship covering intellectual property (IP), start-ups and business incubation. He is Chairman of Water Innovate, a university spin-out company now owned by Bluewater Bio, and chairs the Technical Advisory Group of G2O Water, a UK-based graphene innovation company whose patented technology is applied to water treatment. Professor Stephenson joined Cranfield in 1990 and was appointed Professor of Water Sciences in 1994.
